Norway Grants Green ICT – Development of autonomous power line inspection technology uBird

Hepta Airborne OÜ has received funding for the “Development of autonomous power line inspection technology uBird” (EU53936) that has been supported by the Norway Grants “Green ICT programme”. The objective of this funding scheme is to support and widen the cooperation of Estonian and Norwegian innovation and business cooperation. Hepta is developing the first turnkey end-to-end inspection technology, which automates the power lines inspections and the following inspection data analysis for large areas.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • Business validation of uBird by completing a detailed analysis in close cooperation with end-users.
  • Fine-tuning and upgrading our inspection hardware – robust and high-performance sensors.
  • Develop the current data processing product to a fully market-ready and highly scalable solution.
  • To develop the prototype of the digital twin framework.
  • Piloting the uBird and new business model with potential direct clients and naturally, with the partner.

Hepta is working together on the project with ICB Digital AS – an innovative Norwegian software company focused on enabling digitalization processes in industrial enterprises and production environments. ICB Digital is involved in the partnership with knowledge and achievements in the field of IoT, Machine Learning, AI, business development, data collection, modelling and simulation systems.
The budget of the innovation project is 1.4M€, with the grant of the Green ICT program reaches 699 000€. The project started in November 2020 and will be completed in October 2023.

Hepta Airborne OÜ projekt “Development of autonomous power line inspection technology uBird” projekt (EU53936) sai rahastuse Eesti-Norra koostööprogrammist Green ICT, programmi eesmärk on suurendada Eesti ja Norra innovatsioonialast ärikoostööd.

Hepta on välja töötamas uudset lahendust, mis automatiseerib elektriliinide kontrollimist ja järgnevat suurte alade andmete analüüsi.

Projekti peamised eesmärgid on:

  • Äriline valideerimine tihedas koostöös lahenduse lõppkasutajatega
  • Automatiseeritud andmetöötluste ja analüüsi lahenduse turuvalmis ja skaleeritavaks lahenduseks arendamine.
  • Digitaalse kaksikute prototüübi väljatöötamine.
  • Lahenduse ja uue ärimudeli katsetamine potentsiaalsete otseklientidega ja partneriga.

Hepta töötab projektis koos ICB Digital AS-ga – innovaatilise Norra tarkvaraettevõttega, mis on keskendunud digitaliseerimisprotsesside võimaldamisele tööstusettevõtetes ja tootmiskeskkonnas. ICB Digital on seotud teadmiste ja saavutustega IoT, masinõppe, tehisintellekti, ettevõtluse arendamise, andmete kogumise, modelleerimise ja simulatsioonisüsteemide valdkonnas.
Innovatsiooniprojekti eelarve on 1,4 miljonit eurot, GreenICT programmi toetus ulatub 699 000 euroni. Projekt algas 2020. aasta novembris ja lõpeb 2023. aasta oktoobris.
